The present study has been designed to investigate the locus of control of college students and also to see their differences on gender, area of residence and education stream with locus of control. The study was conducted over a sample of 240 (120 males and 120 females) who were belong to urban and rural area. Roma Pal's locus of control scale was used. The result reported that there exists a significant relationship between locus of control of male students and female students. No significant relationship observed between locus of control of urban and rural area students. And also no significant difference was found between science and commerce students' locus of control whereas science and arts students differ significantly in their locus of control, same way commerce and arts students also differ significantly in their locus of control.Keywords

The aim of this study was to assess the relationships between Emotional Intelligence and Psychological well being among Police personnel. The sample consisted of 200 police personnel (head constable/constable) selected randomly from various branches of Gujarat. Tools were used for the collection of data included Emotional Intelligence inventory (MEII) and Psychological well being scale (Ryff), The scores of the individuals were treated statistically, Results revealed that high positive correlation was found between emotional intelligence and psychological well being among constable whereas, head constables Emotional intelligence is not positively correlated to Psychological well being.Keywords

The study was designed to investigate the impact of certain personal variables on Emotional Intelligence of police personnel. The sample consisted of 200 police personnel (Constable/Head Constable) selected randomly from various branches of Rajkot and Junagarh districts. Mangal's Emotional Intelligence Inventory was used to measure emotional intelligence. the results indicated that police are not emotionally intelligent when they were tested on the following variables: gender (t = 1.64, > 0.05), area of residence (t = 1.40, > 0.05), marital status (t = 0.67, > 0.05), and family status (t = 1.73, > 0.05). Whereas, some variables namely education qualification and work experience, job status, age, monthly income and type of family have significant effect on emotional intelligence of police.Keywords
